As the weather (very slowly) starts to turn from Winter to Spring, it’s time to start thinking about your annual family portraits. The most popular family portraits that I photograph are beach sunsets and Fall foliage. But if you’re looking to switch things up this year, let’s schedule your photos for this Spring!
This beautiful New Haven CT location goes from city to full bloom for just a short period of time. As the weather changes, the Cherry Blossoms come into bloom, offering a mix of white, pink and light pink flowers for multiple blocks. The red brick building and black iron fences and gates give this location such a unique feel.
I love exploring this block and all the alcoves, steps, and beautiful alleys. But if you would like my advice, avoid this location on a weekend. Even on a weekday afternoon or Sunday morning you’ll find this block swimming with people. It is one of the more popular tourist destination and a great spot for families to come with kids for a picnic or just to walk around. Even if you decide you want to skip this location as a photography spot, consider visiting it just for fun!
