CT Family Photographer | Beach, Park & Outdoor Sessions

Family sessions are one of those things that feel more stressful going in than they actually are. I’ve photographed over 3,000 families across Connecticut over the past 13 years and I can tell you — the chaos you’re worried about almost always disappears within the first few minutes. Kids who “won’t cooperate” do cooperate. Toddlers who “never smile for photos” smile. I’ve seen it happen more times than I can count.

My job is to make the session feel easy for you. I’ll handle the posing, the direction, the coaxing of your three year old, and the in-between moments that end up being your favorites. You just have to show up.

Session Locations

Connecticut has genuinely beautiful spots for family photography and I’ve spent years finding the best ones. Sessions can take place at beach locations along the Madison, Clinton and Guilford shoreline, rustic park settings throughout New Haven and Middlesex counties, wooded and open field locations perfect for fall foliage, the lavender farm in season — one of the most beautiful and sought-after spots in the area — and my private Madison studio for families who prefer an indoor option.

When you inquire I’ll help you think through the best location based on your family’s style, the season, and the look you’re going for. You don’t need to figure that out on your own.

What to Expect

From the moment you reach out you’ll get straightforward responses and clear guidance. No chasing down information. When you book, I’ll send a style guide to help you plan what everyone should wear so you’re not stressing about that the week before.

During the session I guide you through both posed portraits and candid in-between moments — the ones where someone is laughing at something their kid just did, or a sibling is sneaking up on another. Those are often the photos families love most. After the session I turn around your gallery quickly so you’re not waiting weeks to see how everything turned out.

Mini Sessions

Throughout the year I offer seasonal mini sessions — fall minis, beach minis, holiday card sessions. These are shorter, more affordable sessions that are great for annual family photos or holiday cards. Senior Portrait Sessions

I also photograph high school seniors. Senior sessions are done outdoors and are a mix of guided posing and more natural, relaxed moments — the goal is images that actually look like you, not stiff studio shots. Connecticut has so many beautiful outdoor locations that work perfectly for this, from beaches and fields to parks and wooded paths.

Serving Connecticut Families

Families from Madison, Guilford, Clinton, Branford, Old Saybrook, New Haven, Killingworth and across the shoreline and surrounding counties are welcome. Sessions book up especially fast in fall — if you have a season in mind, reaching out early is always a good idea.
