The first year goes faster than anyone warns you. One day you have a newborn who sleeps in a little bean pose, and before you know it they’re sitting up on their own, making you laugh, and diving face-first into a birthday cake. I’ve been photographing babies through their first year for over 13 years and I genuinely never get tired of it — watching a family grow from one session to the next is one of the best parts of this work.
If you want to capture the whole journey, I offer two packages that take you from the very beginning all the way through the first birthday.
Bump to Baby Package
The Bump to Baby package captures your family’s journey starting before baby even arrives.
It includes a Classic Maternity session and a Signature Newborn session covering the full newborn flow plus family and sibling portraits. As baby grows, a Milestone Mini session in studio captures that sweet spot between four and seven months when babies are starting to show their personality but haven’t taken off yet. Finally, a Signature First Birthday session wraps everything up.
As a bonus, every Bump to Baby package includes a professionally designed 10×10 album with 20 pages featuring images from all four sessions. That album tells the complete story of your baby’s first year in a way that a folder of digital files just doesn’t.
First Year Package
The First Year package starts at the newborn session and carries through to the first birthday.
It includes a Signature Newborn session, two Milestone Mini sessions — typically around four months and again around seven months, capturing how much your baby changes in that short window. The Signature First Birthday session closes out the year.
The bonus 10×10 album with 20 pages is included here as well, designed across all three sessions.
Individual Milestone Sessions
Not ready to commit to a full package? Individual milestone sessions are available too. Whether you want to capture your baby sitting up for the first time or celebrate their first birthday with a cake smash, standalone sessions are an option. Milestone sessions can be done in studio or outdoors depending on the season and what you’re going for.
When the Sessions Happen
Every baby is different, so timing is always a conversation. Generally the milestone minis fall somewhere between four and seven months — when babies can sit with a little support and are starting to show real personality. The birthday session is typically scheduled a week or two before the actual birthday so you have the photos in hand for the party.
For families who book a package, I keep track of where you are in the plan and reach out as each session window gets close. You don’t have to manage the logistics yourself.
The Album
This is the part that surprises a lot of families. Having someone else design a professionally printed album from your baby’s entire first year — pulling together images from maternity, newborn, milestones, and the birthday — takes something off your plate that most parents never actually get around to doing on their own. It’s genuinely one of my favorite things to include because it means the story doesn’t just live on a hard drive.
