One of the most common questions that I receive is when to schedule your maternity photoshoot. You should schedule your maternity photoshoot when you are in your second trimester, anytime after 13 weeks but preferably before you are 34-36 weeks into your pregnancy.
Most photographers book maternity and newborn photo shoots in advance, so scheduling early on is best. That being said, it’s never a bad idea to inquire even if you are further along than recommended. Hey, it never hurts to ask.
Most maternity photo shoots are done between 34-36 weeks into your pregnancy. This is the recommendation for a first healthy pregnancy. If you have any indication that you will go into labor early, it is best to schedule your session for earlier, like 32/33 weeks.
Another factor when scheduling your maternity photoshoot is the seasons. While New England, and especially the CT shoreline, offers gorgeous backdrops for your maternity photo shoot pretty much any day of the year, you may have a special location or outfit in mind. It’s a good idea to talk things over with your photographer ahead of time so you can make a decision on what the best timing would be.
