In general I always recommend that expecting parents book their newborn photoshoot in their second or third trimester. This ensures that you are able to secure the photographer of your choice based on style, price, and other criteria that’s important to you. Waiting until the baby is born creates a little bit of risk that your favorite photographer will not have availability for a photoshoot.
In my Madison CT newborn photography studio I always try to help new parents out. While we cannot always capture the baby before the 2 week mark that we recommend, there are always options.
Meet sweet baby girl Gianna. She was 1 month old when I photographer her. Mama reached out to me after Gianna was born and we schedule their session when I had an opening.
I knew that her mama adored the new swing newborn prop that I have featured before, as well as neutral and pink color pallet.
Don’t you think we got the sweetest photos of Gianna?! While she is on the older side of the recommended newborn baby photo age, we were still able to capture what her mama had been wanting.
While I do not recommend waiting until the last minute, it is never too late. I will help you capture your baby at their adorable stage no matter how old they are. Those sleepy baby poses are not always guaranteed, but capturing adorable features and their little personalities is.
