One of my most common asked questions is recommendations or suggestions for locations to take family photos. So, I am starting a new series highlighting some of my favorite spots! This week, my Favorite Family Photography Spot is Bauer Park!

Bauer Park, located in Madison CT, is often my go-to for Family Photography Sessions. Not only is it a convenient location for me and many of my clients, it also hosts a variety of amazing spots around the park that make for great photo opportunities, year round! And this spot serves as a great place for maternity portraits as well! Just check out the mix of textures of the evergreen trees with the wood in the barn……..
In 1990, Erwin Bauer gave his family farm to the town of Madison, who turned the property into a public park. Some year round features include a covered bridge (my personal favorite), several ponds, an old farm house, and beautiful tall grasses that are fun to capture the kids in.
Come spring and summer, Bauer Park is a flurry of change, with the large community gardens and local plant life in full bloom. Kids love exploring the trails and viewing the butterfly garden, making for some amazing candid shots. Can’t you picture these family portraits on your gallery walls at home?
As summer fades to fall, the colors at Bauer Park intensify and brighten! The beautiful colors and textures of autumn make for some of my favorite family and maternity photo opportunities. Just look at the hues in this maternity portrait!
Bauer Park has proven to be a great suggestion to anyone looking for a family photography session location. From families with young kids, furry kids and kids still in the belly, this location can accommodate them all! And Bauer Park works well in any season. From covered bridges to wooden barns, and bloom-filled trails to butterfly gardens; Bauer Park really does have it all! All reasons why it made my list of Favorite Family Photography Spots.
