I love being a Newborn Photographer in Guilford CT because I get to meet amazing families. Graham and his family were no exception!
I have such a funny story to tell you about this one. Graham’s mom mentioned, when booking her session, that she loves all my images but prefers to have the baby sleeping through all the photos. I said, no problem.
It’s such a personal decision whether you prefer babies with eyes open or closed. And usually it is actually much harder to capture babies with eyes open. Usually if their eyes are open, they’re unsettled or cross eyed (LOL!)
Well guess what happened! Graham was HAPPILY awake most of his session! He just kept looking around, checking things out. It took quiet a bit to get him to actually fall asleep!
Mom and I kept laughing that we totally did this to ourselves by saying we would just keep him sleepy the entire time. Lesson learned!

Maternity portraits are usually booked when you are 12-20 weeks along and scheduled around 32-36 weeks of pregnancy. Newborn portraits are usually booked to hold your “delivery month” when you are 12-20 weeks pregnant and scheduled once the baby arrives. The “ideal” time for newborn baby photography is between 5-15 days of age, but please do not hesitate to reach out if you’ve missed that window.
