Sam’s parents reached out to me for a newborn photography session after finding me online. We spent a few minutes chatting on the phone to iron out the logistics of setting up a newborn photography session and they came to see me the following week. Sam and his family are from North Haven CT which is a short drive to our Madison CT studio.
While I usually recommend that expecting parents book their newborn photography session while they’re still pregnant, I try my best not to turn new parents away.
As a mom myself, I remember how stressful it was to cross everything off that ever-growing to-do list. Newborn photography should not be something you stress! It should be something you enjoy.
I loved meeting this family. Not only was Sam absolutely adorable, but his parents spoke Russian! It’s always so exciting to meet someone else that speaks the same language.

Maternity portraits are usually booked when you are 12-20 weeks along and scheduled around 32-36 weeks of pregnancy. Newborn portraits are usually booked to hold your “delivery month” when you are 12-20 weeks pregnant and scheduled once the baby arrives. The “ideal” time for newborn baby photography is between 5-15 days of age, but please do not hesitate to reach out if you’ve missed that window.
