Sweet baby Cayden was in the studio just last week with his gorgeous family. Cayden and his family are from Killingworth CT which is actually really close to my Madison CT studio!
Cayden is actually the second newborn that I’ve photographed for this family! Vaida (who is now a big sister!) was the first newborn I photographed for this family – check out her post here.
Cayden was an absolute dream to photograph. He slept so soundly. Even when he did wake up he fell right back asleep within seconds.
Vaida, who was 19 months during her baby brother’s photography session, was a whole other story. LOL! Those of you with super shy 1-2 year olds will know exactly what I am talking about. Vaida was very nervous to be in a new location and to see all the photography equipment. But we let her hang out, play some games and were still able to snag some photos of the family and siblings! It wasn’t easy, but totally worth it.
My oldest daughter was actually incredibly shy as a baby and a toddler so I knew exactly how Vaida felt. I also knew that forcing her into the photos would never work. We took our time and let her get used to the environment.

Maternity portraits are usually booked when you are 12-20 weeks along and scheduled around 32-36 weeks of pregnancy. Newborn portraits are usually booked to hold your “delivery month” when you are 12-20 weeks pregnant and scheduled once the baby arrives. The “ideal” time for newborn baby photography is between 5-15 days of age, but please do not hesitate to reach out if you’ve missed that window.
