About your CT Photographer

Hi there – I’m Kat!

I am a CT professional photographer who specializes in newborn and family photography. I have photographed hundreds of newborn babies and families since 2013 and can honestly say that I absolutely love what I do. To me photography is more than just a job – it is my passion.

As a mom to two energetic girls, I understand why they say “the days are long but the years are short.” It is my goal to capture as many fleeting moments to look back on as I can.

Newborn safety is my priority! I am trained and certified in safety, am fully vaccinated and will always prioritize your baby during the session.

My years of experience photographing children of all ages helps me capture their true personalities, not just their “cheese” face. I will set down my camera to connect with your children and come to each session ready to make it fun for everyone.

One of my favorite aspects of working as a family photographer is meeting incredible families. I cannot wait to meet yours and capture authentic moments for you to cherish.

Choosing a photographer for your family, especially a newborn photographer, can be a daunting task. Once you've narrowed down your style and found photographers in CT that match what you are looking for and are in your budget, there are still so many options to choose from.

When it comes to newborn photography, safety and comfort of you and your baby is at the top of my priorities. I am Certified by the National Association of Professional Child Photography which means that you will receive not only the highest standard photography, but the safest option. My training is in capturing gorgeous images as well as safe handling of newborn babies. During your newborn session you will be able to sit back and relax. I will handle everything from styling each sessions to calming your newborn baby. During your newborn session I want you to feel completely at ease and comfortable.

 

My goal for every photography session is for you to walk away from this experience in awe and to love your photos for years to come. I will continue to communicate with you as your session approaches, offering style guides and prep lists. During your sessions I will work with you to help in posing that creates authentic connections to capture love and joy. I will get down to your child's level and make sure they're having a great time so we can capture true smiles rather than their cheesy ones. After your session I strive to deliver high quality images in a timely manner.

let's get to know each other

I'll start - some completely random facts about me

 

I was born in Moscow Russia and moved to the US at age 12. I still speak Russian, but unfortunately my girls only know a tiny bit of it.

 

My grandfather is the reason I became obsessed with photography. He and I used to spend countless hours in our homemade dark room processing each photo by hand.

 

I absolutely love being outdoors. Our family camps in the summer and Fall, skis in the winter months and spends hours outside any chance we can get.

 

My husband and I were friends who decided to move in together platonically before we realized that we wanted to date each other. Thankfully it all worked out and we'll be married for 18 years this year!

 

My favorite things (not in order) are spending quality time with my family, snowboarding, wine, camping, hiking, running, movies (but nothing scary), reading, mountains, the ocean, and vacations.
