One of the most common questions that I receive is when should you schedule your newborn photo shoot. Generally, the sooner you can do this the better. My general rule of thumb is that you should start researching a CT newborn photographer near you around 13 weeks. It’s best to schedule the photographer that best suits your style and budget around 20 weeks along.
Scheduling your newborn photographer early on will assure that your spot is held on their calendar. While you do not usually schedule a date, most newborn photographers take on a limited number of sessions per month to guarantee the flexibility that is required. Most babies do not arrive on their due dates and so having the flexibility to adjust is important for your newborn photographer.
That being said, if you think that it’s too late – do not panic! Because babies don’t arrive on a schedule, there are often times when a newborn photographer will have the flexibility to add to their schedule. So even if the baby has already been born, reach out and see if there is any availability for a last minute booking.

Mia’s story has a sad start – she and her twin brother were born early early and unfortunately her brother did not survive.
