When to book your maternity session | CT Maternity Photographer

One of the questions that I get with every inquiry is – when do I book my maternity session?

The answer is actually pretty simple – as soon as you are ready to do it!

Many photographers that photograph outdoor sessions are usually booked pretty solid in the Fall and early winter season, so if you’re due during Fall, I would say the earlier the better!  A general rule of thumb is to book early to make sure that you have the date you want.

Most maternity sessions are photographed around 32-36 weeks.  However – work with your photographer to make sure that you discuss any early labor signs or if it’s not your first pregnancy.  Each pregnancy is unique in its own way and making sure that you are in close contact with your photographer is important.

Worried that you’re due in the winter months and you won’t have gorgeous photos?  If you’re on the CT shoreline, I wouldn’t worry.  Not only is the temperature constantly changing, but you can get gorgeous snow images – can’t imagine a more beautiful way to capture the growing family.  Check out this recent maternity session at Hammonasset State Park in Madison, CT with a bit of snow during the winter.
