Meet Sasha! Newborn photography is undoubtedly one of my most favorite specialties, especially when the clients return and I get to meet their siblings. I remember meeting her big sister Anya just over 2 years ago and taking her photos – I couldn’t get enough of that adorable little face and the long limbs. It’s hard to believe that miss Anya is now a toddler and is welcoming a baby sister into her family.
Sasha, 7 days new, was absolutely adorable! She was such a peach to work with – sleepy, happy, calm. If she wasn’t sound asleep, she was calmly watching me and the world around her. She also gave us a ton of smiles throughout the session and I was happy to be able to give mom so many happy baby photos.
When choosing a set up for miss Sasha, mom and I talked about Anya’s session and finding complimentary, yet different colors. We also wanted to make sure that we had a variety of colors to match the nursery as well as their living spaces. When we were in the studio, we walked through the canvas sizes that would fit best in the spaces – it’s amazing to see how a 16 x 20 canvas print, while large, looks next to a 20 x 30. As always, depending on the space you are looking for, it’s important to see the prints in real life and in real spaces to understand their size. Needless to say, I cannot wait to see the final prints in their house.
Since Sasha was born so close to the Holidays, mom and I wanted to make sure that the setups included some Holiday-themed colors – I knew that they wanted to send out the announcement along with their Holiday cards (and the reason that I am posting this one so late – waited out getting our card 🙂 ). Loved that Sasha made eye contact – and look at that cute little pout!
Anya was amazing with her baby sister! She’s not stranger to my camera but I loved how loving, patient, and caring she was with baby Sasha. I can already tell these two will be best buds for life.
