Today I wanted to share a few examples and details of what is included in a Signature Newborn Photography Session.
When booking a newborn photography session with me there are a few options for different packages. Over the next couple of posts I wanted to dive into what is included in each of the packages, how they differ, and give you some examples so you can make a decision.

Now let’s talk about what is included in a Signature Newborn Photography session! This is the most popular type of session.
Each newborn session is unique and while I always have a plan in mind, it can be adjusted based on the baby! In a Signature newborn photography session I incorporate
- Flokati rug
- 3 props
- 1 seamless backdrop
- family/sibling poses
Let’s dive in to each of these and I can share some examples with you.
Flokati Rug
What is a Flokati? A flokati rug is a woven wool rug. They are shaggy in appearance, and are thick and soft. I have a variety of colors in my studio. Below are a few examples of different poses that I’ve been able to capture using a flokati rug.
Props
My Madison CT studio is full of unique, beautiful, timeless props that I love to incorporate in a Signature Newborn Session. From heart-shaped bowls to adorable buckets, little beds and even a swing! Each of these props are perfect for newborn babies. In a Signature Newborn Photography session I incorporate 3 different props and accessorize them using various backdrops, blankets, pillows, and wraps. Below are a few examples of props being used in Newborn Photography sessions.
Seamless Fabric Backdrop
A Signature Newborn Photography session also includes 1 seamless backdrop fabric. This allows me to pose sweet babies in a very minimal setup. While every baby is unique and I never force a baby to do a pose they are not happy to do, I try for a variety of different poses. Tiny Details
And of course at every session I try to capture as many tiny details as I can! Baby toes, fingers, and those long lashes are so precious.
Parents, Family and Siblings
Signature Newborn photography sessions also include a variety of sibling and family poses. While you are not required to be in the photos I always try to encourage parents to get in them. Many moms opt to have their hair and make up done prior to the session – it can truly elevate your images. Wardrobes are also important! When booking a newborn session with me you will receive a guide to help you prep and dress for your session.
Of course, siblings are a huge part of the session too! Those are some of my favorite images and I know that my clients feel the same!
