Mommy and me mini photo sessions have become quite popular. Have you heard about Mommy and Me mini sessions and wondered, “what is a mommy and me mini session?”
You don’t have to wonder any longer 🙂 I am going to break it down for you.
A mommy and me mini session is usually a short photo session that concentrates on the bond between a mama and her babies. (I use the term babies loosely here – even grown children are still our babies). As moms we are often the ones behind the camera, taking photos of our precious babies. These short photo opportunities are meant to change things up and put mom in the photos with her children.
There are a variety of options when you’re looking for a mommy and me session – from studio sessions to outdoor sessions. But the main theme to all of them is to get mom in the photos.
While I cannot speak for other photographers, I will explain how mommy and me sessions work in my studio.
My mommy and me mini photography sessions are held in the Madison CT photo studio. The sets are prepared ahead of time. All sets tend to be simple to focus on the beautiful bond between a mom and her children. When I am preparing my sets for mommy and me photos, I’m usually looking for something that is classic, yet beautiful.
My mommy and me sessions are usually held in the winter and early Spring, just in time for Mother’s day. I think that it is incredibly special to capture mamas with their littles. If you’re looking for a great gift for Mother’s day, here’s your opportunity!
One more thing that I encourage in my mommy and me sessions is to include multiple generations, if possible. I love seeing grandmas get in the photos with their daughters and grandchildren. I know these photographs will be cherished for many generations to come.
